State Park Information

State Park Overview

Granville State Forest, on the southern border of Massachusetts in the towns of Granville and Tolland, borders Connecticuts Tunix State Forest. Both were the hunting and fishing grounds of the Tunxis Indians. In 1749, the first white settler, Samuel Hubbard, made his home along the banks of the river now bearing his name. Hubbard River rushes over a series of rapids, dropping 450 feet in 2.5 miles.

Granvilles extensive rolling terrain includes 2,397 acres and its spring Mt. Laurel display is spectacular. Recreation at Granville includes camping areas with toilet facilities, and town picnic areas.
